Is AO Financial an insurance company?
No. AO Financial is an insurance sales organization — a Division of USA Benefits Group (USABG), a national FMO. USABG provides the carrier access, contracting infrastructure and national organization; AO builds the training, technology, lead infrastructure and support around the agent. The insurance products themselves are issued by the carriers.
Do I need an insurance license?
Yes — you need an active health and/or life license in the state(s) where you intend to write. If you are not licensed yet, that is not a dead end; tell us on the application and we will point you to the licensing path before we start contracting.
Do I need insurance experience?
No. AO University and AO University LIVE exist specifically so a new agent doesn't have to invent a sales process from scratch. What we do require is work ethic, consistency, coachability and activity.
What's the difference between AO University and AO University LIVE?
AO University is the structured course — it teaches you what to do. AO University LIVE is the live implementation environment where you apply it to real situations: real questions, real objections, real underwriting scenarios. Finishing a course doesn't make someone a producer. LIVE is how we close that gap.
Can experienced agents join?
Absolutely — experienced agents are a core part of who we recruit, especially experienced life agents looking for a business that renews. If you already know how to sell, the ecosystem is a multiplier rather than a starting point.
Do you provide leads?
AO Leads builds and manages agent-specific advertising campaigns with creative produced in-house by AO Media Group. Leads are exclusive to your campaign rather than intentionally resold as shared leads, and they flow directly into Alpha CRM where follow-up workflows are already connected. Specific programs, availability and cost are discussed during the interview process. We do not promise a set volume of leads or a set result.
What is Alpha CRM?
Alpha CRM is AO's technology platform, configured around our insurance sales process: pre-built private health pipelines, automated speed-to-lead follow-up, SMS, calling and email in one place, automated nurture, calendars and appointment workflows, AI appointment setting, client management, post-sale workflows, retention campaigns, renewal reminders, referral automation, reporting, lead-source tracking and pre-built campaign libraries.
What is AI Underwriting?
Viktor, AO AI Underwriting, is an internal support system built around AO's product strategy and underwriting workflows. An agent works a case using client age, household composition, medical conditions, medications, health history, desired coverage, budget and network needs, and the system helps guide them through AO's product-selection logic toward appropriate options to investigate. It does not replace the licensed agent, carrier underwriting, plan documents or final eligibility decisions.
Can I sell life insurance too?
Yes. AO encourages agents to identify life insurance needs inside the health relationship. Our position is that health is the front door to the household — and that the best life lead may be a health lead.
How do renewals work?
In the health business, retained clients can continue to produce compensation in the years after the initial sale, depending on the carrier, product and persistency. That is the structural difference from a purely transactional model: the objective is a book of business, not a single commission. Renewal compensation varies by carrier and product and is never guaranteed.
Can I build a team?
Yes. Agents who want to build organizations can pursue leadership, and USABG provides structured District and Regional development paths. Our philosophy is that leaders should understand production before leaving the field.
Can I work remotely?
Yes — AO agents sell remotely by phone and video as well as in person, supported by Alpha CRM and the AO sales process.
What products can I sell?
Private health and medical solutions, supplemental products (accident, cancer, specified disease, gap, dental and others), and life insurance. Carrier availability, product availability and eligibility vary by state, by carrier, by contracting status and by applicant — no product is available everywhere.
What makes AO different from another IMO or FMO?
The difference isn't any individual tool — it's that they connect. You learn in AO University, apply it in AO University LIVE, operate in Alpha CRM, get opportunities from AO Leads and AO Media Group, navigate difficult cases with AI Underwriting, reach human support when you need it, and the CRM keeps working the client after the sale. The objective of all of it is your self-sufficiency.
What does it cost to get started?
Contracting tiers and costs are covered directly during the interview process so you get current, accurate numbers rather than a stale figure on a web page. Plan on having enough capital to properly launch a business — we would rather tell you that up front than after you join.
What happens after I apply?
Your application comes to AO Financial leadership. If there is a potential fit we schedule a conversation, walk through the ecosystem in detail, answer your questions and outline exactly what onboarding would look like.
