My entrepreneurial journey began while I was still in high school. During my senior year, I worked from home helping my father process mortgage loans. It didn’t take long before I noticed the commission checks coming across his desk and realized there was an opportunity to build something much bigger than a traditional career. At 18 years old, I earned my license and entered the mortgage industry.

Over the next several years, I built businesses, developed teams, and learned firsthand what it takes to grow an organization. I launched a mortgage company, created innovative lead-generation systems, and eventually helped build and manage operations for a mortgage banking firm where more than 100 team members worked across processing, underwriting, funding, and compliance. Along the way, I learned a valuable lesson: growth without systems creates stress, while growth with leadership creates freedom.

When the housing market collapsed during the 2007-2008 financial crisis, I adapted. I expanded into real estate, brokerage ownership, and real estate investing, helping families achieve homeownership while teaching others how to build wealth through real estate. Those experiences taught me resilience, flexibility, and the importance of serving people through life’s biggest financial decisions.

In 2020, like many families, ours faced difficult decisions during the pandemic. Seeking a different lifestyle and more control over our future, we moved from California to Tennessee. What followed would become some of the most challenging years of my life.

In October 2023, both of my sons were involved in a serious car accident. Just two days later, I was diagnosed with melanoma cancer. Emergency surgery followed on Halloween, with additional surgeries and testing confirming Stage III cancer. Cancer treatment began in January 2024 and forced me to confront questions that many business owners never ask until it’s too late: What happens when life interrupts your plans? What happens when your ability to work is suddenly uncertain?

As our family continued navigating those challenges, we were also impacted by an EF3 tornado that caused significant disruption and loss. After enduring one setback after another, my wife and I made the decision to return home to Northern California in the summer of 2025 to be closer to family and friends.

That same year, I joined USA Benefits Group and the AO Financial Division. What began as a fresh start quickly became one of the most rewarding chapters of my career. During my first Open Enrollment season, I generated over $600,000 in production in November and more than $1 million in December alone. More importantly, those efforts created a growing residual income stream that now exceeds $15,000 per month.

Today, my mission is no longer just personal production. My passion is helping others create the same kind of financial stability, flexibility, and opportunity that changed my life. I now spend much of my time mentoring and developing agents, showing them how to build sustainable businesses, serve families at a high level, and create long-term income rather than constantly starting over each month.

One of the most meaningful milestones in this journey has been watching my youngest son, Jet, earn his Health and Life Insurance licenses and join our team. Seeing the next generation step into this profession reminds me why I started in the first place.

My story has never been a straight line. It has included success, failure, economic downturns, cancer, natural disasters, and countless lessons learned along the way. Through it all, I have come to believe that our greatest challenges often become the foundation for our greatest opportunities.

Today, I am more excited than ever about the future. We are building a fast-growing team of dedicated professionals across the country, helping families protect what matters most while creating life-changing opportunities for those who choose to join us. And in many ways, I feel like we’re just getting started.

Production and income figures described above are Eddie’s own historical results. They are not typical, not a projection and not a guarantee of what any other agent will earn. Individual results vary based on licensing, effort, activity and market conditions. AO Financial is a Division of USA Benefits Group and contracts independent agents.
